Sing Noel!

Cántico brings you a wide range of music for the holiday season! We'll share the shimmering, ethereal, "A Spotless Rose," by Paul Mealor, evoking the tenderness of the Christ child, glorious as a rose in the dead of winter. Get ready for us to bring the house down with, "Go Tell it On the Mountain/Jesus, O What a Wonderful Child" -- a no-holds-barred gospel extravaganza, featuring a soprano soloist duel!

This season, we are honored to bring you arrangements by two local composers. "Noel," written by composer and singer/songwriter Naomi LaViolette of Lake Oswego, is a choral arrangement of a track from her solo Christmas album and features guest artists on piano and percussion. Cantico's women will perform, "Coventry Carol," arranged by local Portland composer Joan Szymko. This poignant song is dedicated to all child refugees of war.
