New Ground: Music for a New Year
From 1600 to 1900 the concept of a tonal center gave grounding and direction to the melodies and inner voices surrounding that center. Join the Cherry Trio as we explore the different expressions and approaches English and French composers traveled on their musical journeys. The music of William Lawes, Henry Purcell, John Jenkins, François Couperin, Marin Marais and others will be featured in a New Year's Day concert performed by the Cherry Trio: Katie Clare Mazzeo, Elizabeth Gaver and Penny Hanna.
