Inventive and eclectic, 'Irish folk singer, composer and musician Nuala Kennedy is a brand name in her adopted homeland of Scotland' (Folkworld). Nuala grew up playing the traditional music of her native Co. Louth in the north east of Ireland, an area steeped in mythology and with strong historical links to Scotland. Her music has been described as 'upbeat, light-filled, utterly beguiling' (Songlines Magazine) Currently working on her third release for Nashville's Compass Records, this trio brings Nuala together with one of her long-time musical collaborators, fiddler Dana Lyn, and one of New York's finest guitarists Kyle Sanna. From plaintive ancient Gaelic songs, and alt. songwriting, to experimental compositions and progressive dance music, "A delicious mix of influences abound, without ever sacrificing musical identity"
