Small Acreage Tour - Friendly Haven Rise Farm
* This tour is full, but if we get 20 more people who want to come the owners have offered to give another tour. Please contact Eric Lambert at eric.lambert@clark.wa.gov if you'd like to join the tour. * Friendly Haven Rise Farm is a biodynamic farm in Venersborg that was recognized as a Clark County Model property in 2009. This tour of Friendly Haven Rise Farm will cover a wide range of land and animal management topics such as biodynamic composting, chemical free pasture management, animal care & housing, natural solutions for pest management, nurturing wildlife, giving back to nature, and gardening for the neighborhood, just to name a few. Come learn about how the landowners achieved recognition as a model property and how best management practices have been implemented to improve their property and protect natural resources, while saving time and money. The landowners will also discuss how they got involved with the NRCS EQIP program to help get new hoop houses and how they've utilized a cooperative business structure to lower feed costs and strengthen community ties.
Bring your family & friends and questions you have about your property. Please dress appropriately for the weather, bring a water bottle and wear sturdy boots as we'll be in the field.
This tour is put on by the Small Acreage Program which is made possible by joint sponsorship from WSU Clark County Extension and Clark County Environmental Services Clean Water Program.
WSU Extension programs are available to all without discrimination. Persons requiring special accommodations should call WSU Clark County Extension at (360) 397-6060 ext. 0 at least two weeks prior to the event.
