The Sunrise of AIDS - Stockbridge
The story tells of a granddaughter and friend who are too shy to ask their mother about getting tested for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Grandma not only takes them but volunteers to be the first to take the test. When she's the one that's positive, the family must examine the effect it will have on them.
The Academy proudly announces the world premiere of The Sunrise of AIDS. This production has been created by a professional ensemble of actors, playwrights, and educators under the leadership of Robert Drake, the Artistic Director of The Academy Theatre. After debuting at the Hapeville Performing Arts Center and the Stockbridge Community Arts the show will go on tour.
