"Theatre & Things: An Evening of Transmedia Events" consists of three short plays by comedic genius playwright David Ives and the premiere showing of the black and white version of "Alva" the film inspired by a student one-act play written as a prequel to Tennessee Williams's "This Property is Condemned" directed by Theatre Arts faculty Gary Armagnac and starring Pacific students. The David Ives plays are: 1) The Philadelphia 2) Sure Thing 3) A Singular Kind of Guy David Ives comedies take great delight in language and human foibles. Using wordplay, puns, the incongruities of the English language, and a healthy sense of the absurdities of modern life, they direct our attention to existentialist perspectives on life andmeaning, and the complications involved in romantic relationships.
