Topic: GMOs and Seed Sovereignty
Join us every first Sunday of the month for a vegan brunch and discussion on an issue affecting our food systems. October's topic is GMOs and Seed Sovereignty!
Criticism of GMOs is often portrayed as being based on food safety concerns, with critics labeled as anti-science. But what are some of the actual concerns voiced by farmers and academics? We'll discuss the current place of GMOs in our food system, the connection to animal agriculture, and some of the social, economic and environmental impacts of GMO cultivation.
