"1776" is a funny, insightful, and compelling drama with a striking score and legendary book. The seminal event in American history blazes to vivid life in this most unconventional of Broadway hits. It premiered on Broadway in 1969, and ran for 1,217 performances. The production was nominated for five Tony Awards and won three, including Best Musical Production.
