TESTAMENT

The Arts-A-Fire Youth Theater Troupe presents its second original musical production, a Black History month collaborative piece, "TESTATMENT.", February 10 - 12 at the Evergreen Theater, 1705 Poplar Ave.

Under the direction of Leslie Reddick, troupe members participated in the composition of a performance of narrative, poetry, dance and song that celebrates the rich American heritage, past and present of African-Americans. The work includes the poetry of Pauli Murray, Langston Hughes and current music artists as well as biographies of lesser-known Black Americans. Audiences will also recognize text from the Declaration of Independence and Dr. Martin Luther King.

The Arts-A-F!RE Youth Theater Troupe is comprised of youth 9 18 from throughout the Memphis who participate in year-round musical theater training at the FireHouse Community Arts Center with the aim of developing "Excellence on Stage and in Life."
Arts-A-F!RE Youth Theater Troupe is supported, in part, by the Tennessee Arts Commission and the tax-deductible contributions of supporters and sponsors.
