Rule Britannia
Long live the King! This SMF concert presents a diverse selection of music written by native Brits (Britten's Folksongs, Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on Greensleeves, Elgar Pomp and Circumstance), adopted Brits (Handel's Zadok the Priest), and distant admirers (Beethoven and Ornstein). Program features powerful "Eight Songs for a Mad King" by Maxwell Davies. Internationally acclaimed musicians perform. Pre-concert talk at 6:30pm.
