SUREL'S PLACE PRESENTS
ANDREW NEMR: TAP DANCE A LOVE STORY
With Special Guest: cellist, Dave Eggar

Showtime 7:00pm, Doors: 6:00pm

In this performance, Surels' Place artist-in-residence Andrew Nemr retells the journey of his love affair with tap dancing, some of the friends he's met along the way, and how his journey has taught him more about love than about tap dancing.

ABOUT ANDREW NEMR

Mentored by Gregory Hines, Andrew is considered one of the most diverse tap dance artists today. Whether playing with Grammy Award winning musicians across multiple genres, directing his tap dance company Cats Paying Dues, or leading the Tap Legacy Foundation, Inc. (which he co-founded with Hines), Andrew has a reputation for deep understanding, integrity, and sensitivity. "A masterly tapper" (New York Times), Nemr now uses the story of his journey and the craft of tap dance to speak on ideas of identity, community, faith, and love, within the context of business and the performing arts.www.andrewnemr.com

ABOUT DAVE EGGAR

A musical prodigy as a child, Dave Eggar was performing on Broadway and at The Metropolitan Opera by age 7. Having trained as a classical cellist at Julliard School and Harvard University, Eggar has gone on to perform across the globe, including concerto appearances at Avery Fisher Hall, Carnegie Hall, London's Barbican Center, the Paris Opera, and the Hollywood Bowl. Eggar has performed and recorded with many artists across musical genres including Coldplay, Beyoncé, Ornette Coleman, Amy Winehouse, Taylor Swift and Pete Seeger.
