Masterworks of Mozart and Haydn on Classical Period Instruments
La Follia performs two of the "greatest hits" of the Classical Era: the Trumpet Concerto by Haydn and the Jupiter Symphony by Mozart.
Brian Shaw performs on the keyed trumpet, which was the earliest non-Baroque trumpet and the instrument for which Haydn wrote this concerto. His performance on this instrument is likely a first for Austin.
Go Yamamoto, in addition to being the concertmaster for the Jupiter Symphony, will perform a violin concerto by the "Black Mozart", the remarkable Le Chevalier de Saint-Georges.
They will be accompanied by the La Follia chamber orchestra, performing on instruments like those used during the time of Mozart and Haydn, The sound is lighter and more graceful in contrast to the louder and somewhat more strident sound of modern instruments
