"Telling Your Story" Writing Workshop with Dr. Nathan Brown
The best way to tell a life's story is to tell life's "little stories" individually, then carefully piece them together into the bigger picture. We will look at well thought out ways to pare them down into the smaller bites and moments of life techniques to brighten and polish those moments into fun short stories along with ways to organize them in time, or in "time frames" so that they give the reader a path to follow. We'll also take a close look at the nature of "audience" and how that determines, in many ways, the style, tone, and length of the pieces.
No matter what genre we work infrom poetry to prose, the stage to film, and even in visual arthuman beings crave, right down to our DNA, solid, emotional, and entertaining "storytelling." That's what it all comes down to. And that's what we'll gather in this beautiful place to learn.
