Doubt by John Patrick Shanley
Winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award and made into a major motion picture, DOUBT has become a touchstone of the modern American theatre. In this brilliant and powerful drama, Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, takes matters into her own hands when she suspects the young Father Flynn of improper relations with one of the male students. It's a gripping story of suspicion that is less about scandal than about fascinatingly nuanced questions of moral certainty. NY Newsday called Shanley's script "a lean, potent dramapassionate, exquisite, important and engrossing" and NY Time Out said it is "an eloquent and provocative investigation of truth and consequences. A gripping mystery, tightly written."
Katie White, one of Buffalo's most decorated theatre artists, directs an all-star lineup of some of Western New York's finest actors: Ellen Horst, David Hayes, Anne Roaldi Boucher and Annette Daniels Taylor.
