Sybarite5 invades the cell (3/31/12)

Sybarite5 returns to the cell for a new concert series as the 2011-12 Ensemble in Residence.

From Radiohead to Mozart, this group of talented, diverse musicians has changed the perception of chamber music performance. From the moment that their bows hit the strings, the audience is taken on an exciting ride that engages the senses and redefines the rules.

Their program will include the World Premiere of Mohammed Fairouz's New York Minutes, two new arrangements of Brahms and Rachmaninoff by composer Paul Sanho Kim, and selections from SYBARITE5s acclaimed Radiohead Remixed Project.

Comprised of Sami Merdinian and Sarah Whitney, violins; Angela Pickett, viola; Laura Metcalf, cello; and Louis Levitt, bass, Sybarite5 has taken audiences around the US by storm.

This concert is jointly presented by the cell theatre and The Five Boroughs Music Festival. It is also made possible with continuing support from the Manocherian Foundation and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
