Leading Ladies
In this delightful comedy, two English Shakespearean actors find themselves down and out in Pennsylvania's Amish country in the 1950s. When they get word of a dying heiress about to leave a fortune to her two long-lost English nephews, they hatch a scheme to get the cash. However, once they get there they realize that the sought-after relatives aren't nephews at all, but nieces! Gender-bending is a piece of cake for a couple of Shakespearean actors until a little romance shakes things up. Leading Ladies had its world premiere at Houston's Alley Theatre in 2004.
