FBCA Music Series presents violinist Dan Smiley and pianist Jonathan Shames
Mr. Smiley, principal second violinist of the San Francisco Symphony, is well know to local audiences for his years as concertmaster and soloist with the Mendocino Music Festival . His stunning performance last year of the Barber Violin concerto with the Symphony of the Redwoods produced wild applause from an audience hoping for more. Conductor/pianist Jonathan Shames, a recipient of the Finalist Diploma award at the 1982 Moscow International Tchaikovsky Piano Compeititon has had an international career as conductor and solo, concerto and chamber music pianist. The Smiley-Shames Duo ,with these two outstanding American performers has been recognized across the country as an exceptional collaboration offering distinguished and exciting interpretations of the great classics for violin and piano.
