48 HOURS IN HARLEM
In September of 2010, 9 producers came together in Harlem. Over good food and conversation, we unanimously agreed that we were in the midst of a new Black Arts Movement and even more exciting, a new Harlem Renaissance!

We decided to collaborate our talents and resources to form a collective that would explore the past, present, and future of black culture and our rich history of storytelling, thus serving to contribute to the re...-invigoration of the Harlem community.

"48 hours in Harlem" is our inaugural event, aimed at stimulating emerging African American artists. 6 playwrights are offered 6 classic, provocative plays. They are challenged to re-conceive these classics into a ten-minute format. 6 savvy directors and 18 accomplished actors will bring these raw impressions to life, all in a weekend, to be performed on Sunday evening.

Playwrights: Keith Josef Adkins, Harrison David Rivers, DominiqueMorriseau, Derek Lee McPhatter, Ayanna Maia, and
Mfoniso Udofia

Directors: Niegel Jason Smith, Nicole A. Watson, Christopher Burris, Melissa Maxwell, Russell G. Jones, and Tamilla Woodard
