1st Annual Rev. Herbet Daughtry Prayer Breakfast
The Jersey City Chapter of the National Black United Front (NBUF) will host its first ever Rev. Dr. Herbert Daughtry Prayer Breakfast 10 a.m. July 30 at Moguls Lounge and Restaurant, located at 543 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Jersey City N.J.
Rev. Herbert Daughtry was a founding member of the NBUF and served as the organizations first national chairman. Daughtry has more than 40 years of community service, struggle and sacrifice. He will be honored with a proclamation from New Jersey State Senator Sandra Cunningham. Rev. Elizabeth Butler of the Church of New Beginnings, Brooklyn, N.Y., will give the keynote address.
The prayer breakfast is just one of several events that will be taking place during the founding convention of the Jersey City Chapter of NBUF. In addition to Daughtry, the prayer breakfast will honor several other community leaders and activists as well.
NBUF is a broad-based organization that includes all social, political, religious and cultural groups in the black community. It is composed of concerned and committed individuals and organizations that have united to assume responsibility for leading the struggle toward a better life for themselves and their children.
