THE FDA UNCOVERED -- Dr. Carl Peck

Is The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) a valuable consumer advocate or an intransigent bureaucracy? Are their actions rightly criticized and second guessed or are the FDA's decisions, based on findings by dedicated scientists applying the latest scientific methods, effectively protecting the public?

Attend this class and learn from a former FDA executive how the FDA is required to "promote and protect the public health" via regulations of products that account for more than 25% of every dollar spent by consumers. Regulated products include food, cosmetics, tobacco, drugs and medical devices for humans and animals.

Dr. Peck will explain the inner workings of the FDA and how it achieves its mandates. After you hear what Dr. Peck has to say, you can decide for yourself whether the average cost of $8 per person per year in the United States for the vast array of protections and services FDA provides is a waste of money or a bargain.

Dr. Carl Peck is a Founder, Partner and current Chairman of FDA Partners. He was the founding director of the Center for Drug Development Science at Georgetown University Medical Center, where he served from 1994 to 2004. From 1987 to 1993, Dr. Peck was Director, Center for Drug Evaluation & Research (CDER) US Food & Drug Administration.
