Global Classroom Celebration & 2011 World Citizen Essay Contest Awards Reception

Join the World Affairs Council Board of Directors and Staff for our annual Global Classroom Celebration featuring World Citizen Essay Contest winners and a special delegation of political and civil society leaders from Africa!

Come enjoy appetizers and beverages as we celebrate and get inspired by our 2011 World Citizen Essay Contest winners, who wrote essays on the global impact of local innovations such as Amazon.com, the Washington Global Health Alliance, PATH's Ultra Rice, Starbucks, and more; network with African leaders in government, media, and NGOs from 15 countries in Africa, including Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe; and learn more about the award-winning work of Global Classroom from the teachers and students who participate in our programs.
