A NEIL LABUTE DOUBLE BILL
SOME GIRL(S)

Your career as a writer is blossoming. Your beautiful, young fiancée is waiting to get married and rush off to Cancun with youso what is your natural reaction? Well, if you're Guy, it's to start calling up old girlfriends. And so begins one man's odyssey through four hotel rooms as he flies across the country in search of the perfect woman (that he's already broken up with). Some Girl(s) is a contemporary classic from Neil Labute, American theater's great agent provocateur. In grand LaBute fashion, this outrageously funny and deadly serious portrait of a young seducer casts a truthful, hilarious light on a 20-something young male as he wanders through the heart of darkness within himself.--

STRANGE FRUIT

Finding the love of your life often means finding yourself as well. This is a great love story about when plans to get married "the old-fashioned way" are stymied when reality rears its ugly head. One of Neil LaBute's most affecting short works, Strange Fruit will be presented as part of The Tank's Pride Fest 2015 program.

ABOUT THE BLOCKHEADS

The Blockheads were founded by Lucio Nieto and Louise Oliver.  The collective formed from a group of young actors and directors hungry to do good work but not willing to sit around and wait for that to come to them. Our mission is to give talented, emerging actors the chance to dive into really good contemporary text alongside the belief that art and performance can be used as a vehicle and messenger for social justice.

Praise for previous productions...

"It's a beautiful and relevant work that should be discussed" - Michael Block, Theater in the Now

"I cannot wait to see what is next for this company" - Samantha Turlington, Turn to Flesh Productions
