From The Top

Vivid Motion takes it From the Top this July, reviving audience and dancer favorites from the past 12 years. July 24-26 at St. Lawrence Arts Center in Portland.

Vivid Motion has been producing creative, fun, solid dance shows since it first started out with Nutcracker Burlesque in 2003. This summer we're going to conjure up some sweet memories, of dreams and choices, of jumping in the park and whirling under the ocean. We'll dance with gods and streetwalkers, and even look into The Rat's Nest, our favorite wintry biker bar. If you've danced with, watched, or just heard about our quirky and kinda innovative dance company, you don't want to miss this show.

Directed by Alison Berry, From the Top showcases work from founding members Brigitte Paulus, MJ Emerson and Emily Zack, as well as work from 8 other choreographers. Our dancers are from all over Southern Maine; with varying levels of training, but united in a love of dance. Vivid Motion is a 501-c-3 organization dedicated to making dance not only fun to do, but fun to watch too. Over 300 dancers, designers and technicians have participated in our productions, and our shows have reached thousands of audience members. We're proud of the work this all volunteer company has done, and can't wait to see what we'll accomplish in the coming years.
