Caponi Art Park Bluegrass Festival and Fundraiser
This festival brings nationally and regionally touring, award-winning bands Monroe Crossing, Wild Goose Chase Cloggers, Sawtooth Brothers and Jack Norton and the Mullet River Boys, each with their own unique sound and style to Caponi Art Park. Gates open at noon with music starting at 2 p.m. Geared for folks and families of all ages, the day will include food trucks and kid-friendly activities.

This community celebration and fundraiser for Caponi Art Park features a beautiful wooded outdoor venue. Take in the beauty of this inviting, natural setting that seamlessly blends art and nature. Home to one of the largest outdoor amphitheaters in the region, our Theater in the Woods is nestled in the park's hilly landscape and made intimate by a canopy of trees.

General admission is $20 for adults. Kids 6- 12 years old are $5/child and kids 5 years and under are free. Group ticket discounts available.

Sawtooth Brothers
2:00 to 2:40
Dazzling audiences with precision picking and sharp harmonies developed over years of playing, performing, and growing up together, audiences can expect creative original songs, hard driving bluegrass, classic country, gospel, and classic rock by the Sawtooth Brothers.

Their sound is rooted in traditional bluegrass instrumental and harmony work and is influenced by the modern acoustic sounds of Nickel Creek, the Punch Brothers, and the Steep Canyon Rangers. Further influence comes from the surprisingly eclectic listening habits of band members from Frank Sinatra to Eric Church, and The Who to The 1975.

Jack Norton and the Mullet River Boys
3:00 to 3:40 p.m.
Meet the Mullet River Boys  musical purveyors of vintage vaudeville, jug band and rag-timey bluegrass music. Led by Emmy Award winning filmmaker Jack Norton, the band has been called, "one of the most entertaining acoustic groups in the Midwest" by the Minneapolis Star Tribune. This dynamic group  whose stated goal is to literally, "corrupt an audience with pleasure"  features Jack Norton on ukulele (Tiny Tim was his babysitter)  backed by the Mullet River Boys performing on homemade instruments like: washboards, kazoos, combs, tuned bicycle horns, slide whistles, harmonicas, washtub bass and more.

Wild Goose Chase Cloggers
4:00 to 4:40 p.m.
Wild Goose Chase Cloggers' enthusiasm for Appalachian dance and music is a surefire crowd-pleaser whose membership consists of 12 energetic dancers accompanied by the lively music of Rooster Riot. Playing a variety of old-time tunes, audiences are mesmerized by fancy footwork while moving in intricate patterns. Dances are based on square-dance formations, modern a cappella pieces, and other types of percussive dance including French Canadian step-dancing and English waltz clogging.

Monroe Crossing
5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Monroe Crossing dazzles audiences with a blend of classic bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, and heartfelt originals. Their airtight harmonies, razor sharp arrangements, and on-stage rapport make them audience favorites across the United States and Canada. They recently released their 14th disc titled Because You Asked.

Among their many honors, Monroe Crossing was inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame in 2007. This will be Monroe Crossing's third appearance at the Art Park. Their 2012 premiere performance at Caponi Art Park remains one of our most popular events.

Located on 60-acres of rolling wooded hills in Eagan, Minnesota, Caponi Art Park and Learning Center is a distinctive community space offering cultural and educational experiences in an inviting, natural setting.  Festival proceeds support the Art Park's programming.  Supported in part by the Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Association (MBOTMA).
