CALENDAR GIRLS
Oct 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17
By Tim Firth

A women's group focuses mainly on the ancient arts of jam-making, flower-pressing and crafts until one of its members loses her husband to lymphoma. The ladies have photos of themselves taken for a calendar to raise money for the local cancer ward. This charming and "cheeky" play shows slightly-prudish women doing whatever it takes to help a friend in need.

"The play induces a few tears along with the joy and laughter" - The British Theatre Guide
"It has heart, lots of genuine emotion and true sentimentality." - National Business Review
Some adult language, nudity.

When a bitter former real-life couple is united onstage to play romantic leads, the lines between illusion and reality are blurred. Is it love or just hormones?  Sarah Ruhl gives us another hilarious and quirky comedy that is both clever and profound.

"CRITIC'S PICK. Suffused with warmth and humor."  New York Times
"FOUR STARS. Sarah Ruhl delivers a brilliant comedy that aims for big laughs and hits its target. Funny: There's nothing like it."  New York Post

THE VELOCITY OF AUTUMN
Jan 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23
By Eric Coble

Alexandra has barricaded herself into her NYC brownstone with enough Molotov cocktails to take out the block. She is an 80-year-old artist who demands her independence while her family insists it is time to move into an assisted living facility. When her estranged son returns to mediate the situation, their past love and pain make for beautiful and wickedly funny theater.

"Bracing, honest, and often deliciously funnyAnyone who's even reached the crest of middle age will have an innate feeling for this admirably drawn woman." The New York Times.
"Sublime and penetrating." Variety.

ART   Feb 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 27
By Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton

Serge, Marc and Yvan find their previously solid 15-year friendship on shaky ground when Serge buys an expensive painting. The canvas is white, with a few white lines.  The play focuses on the meaning of art as well as the meaning of friendship, to both the man who bought the painting and the two friends who come to see it.

Winner of the 1998 Tony Award for Best Play.
Winner of the 1996 Olivier Award for Best Comedy.

"A nonstop cross-fire of crackling language, serious issues of life and art expressed in outbursts that sound like Don Rickles with a degree from the Sorbonne. Reza is a fiendishly clever writer. 'ART' sounds like a marriage of Molière and Woody Allen."  -Newsweek.

BAD JEWS
Mar 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26
By Joshua Harmon

The day after their grandfather's funeral, three cousins in their 20s argue about family, legacy, and what it is to be a "good Jew."  The argument is hilarious with a serious undertone about the place of faith in the lives of all young people today.  Thought-provoking and vividly funny.

"Critic's Pick. There's nothing like a death in the family to bring out the worst in people. This unhappy truth is displayed with delectably savage humor in 'Bad Jews,' a zesty play by Joshua Harmon...[;;that is];; THE BEST COMEDY OF THE SEASON."  - The New York Times

TWELFTH NIGHT
Apr 22, 23, 28, 29, 30, May 1, 5, 6, 7

Orsino is infatuated with Olivia, but she is interested in the messenger-boy Orsino sends to plead his case. Unfortunately, the "boy," Cesario, isn't a boy at all! And, to complicate things further, she's in love with Orsiono!  This comedy is full of the best of Shakespeare's characters including narcissists, cross-dressers, drunks and even a Puritan!
Mature situations.
