THE TIFFANY BOX: A LOVE REMEMBERED by Kathleen Buckstaff
From Kathleen Buckstaff:
A little more than ten years ago, I was working as a humor/ inspirational columnist for The Los Angeles Times and The Arizona Republic. My husband and I had three children under the age of 8. We were living with my mom and dad while we remodeled a house across the street. And then my mom was diagnosed with cancer. I stopped writing the column and wrote only emails and letters. Years later, a friend of mine gave me back emails I had written to her during the last two years of my mom's life. My friend had saved them. The Tiffany Box, a love remembered, was created from those emails, other emails and letters I wrote and a few of my columns.
This story is one I could never have intentionally written for a public audienceit's raw, honest, sometimes funny and beautiful. It's the stuff you'd only tell a best friend. The story captures my transition as I become a mother to my own mom and the craziness, grace and beauty of living with a beloved who is dying. I'd love to share this story with you.
