The legendary inventor who gave us the Geodesic Dome was so much more...This event is a special fundraiser screening. You'll have the opportunity to sponsor this film at your favorite film festivals.
The Museum will be open for ticket holders at 6:00 pm. The theater doors open at 6:30 pm. The screening will be followed by a reception with filmmaker Noel Murphy at 8:30pm.
The film is about the world's first GREEN car produced in 1933. It's also about Legacy, Mentorship and Genius. Buckminster Fuller's relentless advocacy for humanity permeates throughout this film. The evening includes a small gallery showing of Bucky Fuller artifacts related to the film, a talk by the filmmaker and  a screening of the documentary followed by a reception. Delicacies and wine-tasting by Sicilianaire.com.
Buckminster Fuller was the Leonardo da Vinci of our times. He asked:If success or failure of this planet and of human beings depended on how I am and what I do... How would I be? What would I do? Filming ove one year tells the story of the man who revolutionized  how we think and how we design:The story The 4D Dymaxion Transport, and the history beyond.
Over the last year, Noel Murphy traveled extensively in the United State and Europe, including England and Spain. He did research and filmed. He talked to everyone from Jay Leno to Lord Norman Foster, (the world's top architect & Bucky student) and even Bobby Kennedy Jr. The New York Times has slated an article about The Last Dymaxion for the second  week of January 2011. The film will be submitted to a number of upcoming film festivals.
We will introduce The Bucky Trimtab Youth Challenge. (A cash prize for youth creating outstanding green design.
Note: This is an opportunity to attend the museum's opening day of its new exhibit: Association of Clay & Glass Artists of California and Santa Cruz Ceramics Trains of Santa Cruz!
