Great Discussions 2015-- Part 2 -- Paul Worsham
Great Discussions 2015 is a highly participatory course designed for those informed and thoughtful people among us who love to engage in real discussion and respectful debate over issues of the day. This course is a forum for exchanging ideas about international affairs and America's place in the world.

Great Discussions 2015, Part 2 will have 3 monthly meetings of two hours each.   This course is being announced four times a year. Meetings 2 and 3 will be the same as meeting 1 in structure, but the topics discussed will change during the year to coincide with world events and the interests of the participants.

Participants will discuss current international events and geo-political trends that affect us as citizens of the world and as Americans.  Participation is limited to 18.  You may register for this course each time that it is announced during the year.

Great Discussions is modeled after the Foreign Policy Association's Great Decisions program that LLCC offered in the past.  It is anticipated that FPA.org will be one of the sources of information used.

This course is designed to be responsive and flexible to the issues of the world.  Discussions will be active responses to changing circumstances throughout the world.  Topics covered during Great Discussions Part 2 will be these general broad areas:

APRIL 16:  Human Rights: Can Americans reasonably expect to impose our views and values of human rights on other nations, social groups and cultures?

MAY 21:    World Religions:  What are the positive and negative impacts of major religions on America's foreign policy and the general well being of the world?

JUNE 18:   Global Health- What is America's role in bringing clean water to third-world countries, promoting universal vaccination, preventing pandemics, etc.?

This is a highly participative course.  Please come prepared to research topics, help lead discussions, and otherwise contribute to the exchange of ideas."

While Paul Worsham's education and career focused on consumer electronics marketing, he has a deep and active interest in world affairs and America's place in the world.

The first session of Part 2 will be held in Steynberg Gallery in SLO on Thursday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to noon.

This course has three sessions. Purchasing one ticket entitles you to attend all three sessions of this course.
