Directed by Seth Fisher USA, 2013, 86 min English Houston Premiere Comedy
In this zany comedy, the renowned New York playwright Blumenthal (Brian Cox) is dead, having succumbed to cardiac arrest while laughing at his own jokes.
No one is particularly distraught: not his estranged and jealous brother Saul, a constipated college professor of English; not Saul's wife, who seeks solace in the arms of the dog walker who supplements his income by providing non-dogwalking services to others; and not Blumenthal's son, a pharmaceutical rep who doesn't want his non-Jewish girlfriend to convert because then she'll be "enthusiastic."
Blumenthal is sure to delight audiences with its witty dialogue, jazzy soundtrack, and Manhattan scenes.
