Grown Folks Lab Band Session III:
Blues, Swing and Soulful Serenades
with Khari Allen Lee

Six Rehearsals:
Mondays, 6:00pm, Beginning March 2
At Funky NOLA (1700 N Broad St)
and
Performance: Wednesday, April 8, 7pm (5:30 Sound Check)
at Café Istanbul

Adult musicians with at least 1 year of experience on their instrument are invited to hone their skills in performance, improvisation and music literacy while networking with potential collaborators and passing a good time in a light, supportive atmosphere. Under the direction of acclaimed musician-educator Khari Allen Lee (KhariAllenLee.com), this 6-week course and concert will explore hits by artists such as Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald. While music reading is not a requirement it will be helpful; lead sheets for all tunes will be provided.

Participants must provide their own instruments and/or amps with the exception of keyboard and drums which will be available on site. Proceeds will benefit Musicollaborative's children's programs to assist in the purchase of new instruments and support the scholarship fund.
