Met Opera Season Preview at Arena Theater

Arena Theater presents an Opera Season Preview and Champagne Reception on Sunday September 19 at 4:00 PM. The event will benefit opera at Arena Theater and introduce the Metropolitan Opera 2010-11 Season Live in HD. The Metropolitan Opera 2010-11 Season Live in HD at Arena Theater will open on Saturday, October 9 with Wagner's Das Rheingold and present a total of eleven live transmissions. Five new productions for this season include the first two parts of internationally renowned director Robert Lepage's new production of Wagner's Ring Cycle, which begin and end the season.
The Opera Season Preview will include a panel at 5:00 PM on "The Joy of Opera." Local opera aficionados Iris Lorenz-Fife and Marion Patterson will present musical highlights and discuss the lesser known operas as well as the well known highlights of the season.
In its fourth season, Arena Theater will again offer a season subscription. Ticket prices and show times will be announced on August 24th and available at www.arenatheater.org. Season subscribers will be eligible to become Arena Theater Opera Patrons; benefits include reserved seating. The Opera Preview Champagne Reception is an opportunity to choose preferred seats. Tickets are $20.00 and include champagne and hors d'oeuvres. A no host bar will be open. Tickets are available at www.arenatheater.org.
