We're techically sold out online--but as of Saturday morning, March 7, all local outlets (Wildberries, Wildwood Music, Peoples Records, The Works) have at least a few tickets left for sale. We may also have a small number of seats for sale at the door on the night of the show. (We'll begin selling any open or unclaimed seats at 7:50 p.m.) And once every seat is accounted for, we will sell STANDING ROOM tickets at the door. Please note that even if you hold one of the 135 advance tickets, YOU MUST STILL ARRIVE AT THE DOOR BY 7:50 TO CLAIM YOUR SEAT. Again: after 7:50, we will release any unclaimed seats to the clamoring hordes, and all subsequent arrivals will be admitted on a standing-room-only basis. Thanks for understanding!

Sheila Jordan and Cameron Brown
Arriving in New York from Detroit in the early 50s, Jordan befriended and performed with jazz giants like Charles Mingus, Max Roach, andmost significantlyCharlie Parker. The first female vocalist to record an album for Blue Note, she pioneered the art of the voice/bass duo, eventually developing long and sympathetic partnerships with Arild Anderson, Harvie S and Cameron Brown, who's accompanied everyone from Chet Baker to Archie Shepp but may be best known for his tenure with the Don Pullen/George Adams quartet. In 2012, as an octogenarian, Jordan was named an NEA Jazz Master, the nation's highest honor in jazz. Luckily for us, as a friend of hers put it, "Sheila doesn't feel age."

"She's not an impressionist so much as a medium, channelling the jazz of the past through an imagination that constantly reinvents its own material."
Richard Cook & Brian Morton, The Penguin Guide to Jazz Recordings
