Barkas Los Angeles Intensive Weekend

Devil Mask Society is proud to have Barkas instruct two days of intensive classes in Los Angeles. All descriptions are subject to change at Barkas's discretion.

OSADA RYU INTENSIVE
02.07.15 from 1 PM PST to 5 PM PST.
$125 per couple. 8 couple maximum.

DESCRIPTION: The focus lies on techniques as well as on communication between two persons. During the workshop well practice fundamental Osada ryu ties like the 3-rope-Takatekote, as well as suspensions with transitions and also newaza (floor techniques).
SKILL LEVEL: Advanced.
DURATION: 4-5 hours.
WHAT TO BRING: 8-12 lengths of 6mm hemp or jute rope, carabiners/ring, rubber mat, towel, water bottle.

RANBOO INTENSIVE
02.08.15 from 1 PM to 5 PM PST.
$125 per couple. 8 couple maximum.

DESCRIPTION: This class is aimed at those who want to explore Ranboo, a more active, rough and moving way of doing Shibari. Based on three different Osada-ryu-techniques, participants will learn how to use the elements of surprise, motion and variation of speed within a well directed brutality.
SKILL LEVEL: Advanced.
DURATION: 4-5 hours.
WHAT TO BRING: 8-12 lengths of 6mm hemp or jute rope, carabiners/ring, rubber mat, towel, water bottle.

INSTRUCTOR BIO

Barkas is the co-founder and instructor of Shibari Dojo Vienna, one of four Osada Ryu dojos in the world. He has been certified by Osada Steve since 2013. Additionally, he has trained with Yukimura Haruki and Nawashi Kanna. Barkas has presented at EURIX (European Rigger Exchange) and Shibaricon.

OSADA RYU

The techniques conveyed during the workshop are taken from the Osada ryu. Osada Steve is recognized within the worldwide Shibari community as an undisputed Master. In his work he emphasizes the spiritual and emotional connection with the model, while giving absolute priority to the model's well-being and safety. He also emphasizes discernment of the values of Japanese culture, which are embodied in the rope work.
