Venture into the carnival underworld of THE LOVE MARKETS, where Weimar Berlin mates with New Orleans and pulp heroines stalk the shadowed streets! Angie Louise's smoky vocals slink and soar through a hobo's whiskey dream of accordion and trombone, electrified by mysterious voodoo rhythms and uber-funky bass. All this and Lincoln's Birthday too? Come lift a glass with us on February 12, and do it for your country! Special treats for anyone dressed as Honest Abe!

The Jewelbox Theater is located inside the Rendezvous at 2322 2nd Ave in Belltown. Doors at 7, showtime 7:30 pm. The show will run 70 minutes with no intermission. $10.

THE LOVE MARKETS make songs for a world in which we are all on the market, looking for love against a backdrop of loss, greed, and political corruption. Fronted by singer-songwriter Angie Louise, this band mates the eerie glamour of Weimar Berlin with the bordello funk of New Orleans. In 2013, The Love Markets released their debut album "World Of Your Dreams" at A Contemporary Theatre, drawing raves from Seattle Magazine ("Irresistible... A deliciously dark carnival") and City Arts ("Uber-belter vocals... Fearsome chops"). Since their birth in 2008, the Love Markets have donned their uniforms of military lingerie for shows at ACT, City Arts Fest, Seattle Art Museum, Columbia City Theater, Can Can, and Seattle International Cabaret Festival. They have performed as special guests on TV's "Art Zone with Nancy Guppy" and Sandbox Radio, been featured with Seattle Men's Chorus, hosted the TPS Gregory Awards, played arts galas for beloved organizations from Seattle Children's Theatre to 14/48 to Central Heating Lab, and serve as house band for Open Space on Vashon's ongoing circus arts and dance series "Burlesco Notturno."
