After the death of his wife, Dr. Evan Gibbs and his 10 year old son, Nate, leave Chicago to spend the summer setting up a clinic in the North Carolina Mountains. Clashing against the ways of the small community Evan is forced to deal with his recent loss while reconnecting with his son and learning a different pace of life.
