Lovers by Brian Friel
Friel's play examines the relationships of both a younger and older couple as they struggle against societal disapproval. Friel is well known for such works as Dancing at Lughnasa, Molly Sweener and Faith Healer, and this lesser-known piece of his is a must-see.

The Copperhead by Augustus E. Thomas
Part of an ambitious new five-year project to which the company has committed. 2011-2015 will mark the sesquicentennial years of the Civil War. To commemorate this historic event, City Lit has decided to offer one Civil War-themed play each season for the next five seasons. In The Copperhead, an Illinois gentleman who is hiding dark secret is condemned as a 'copperhead' (slang during the Civil War for a northerner sympathetic to the southern cause). The original production opened on Broadway in 1918 and made a star of Lionel Barrymore!

Sherlock Holmes returns to City Lit in a world premiere adaptation of this Conan Doyle classic. Don Bender returns to his role as the enigmatic Holmes
