The nucleus of Front Country, the award-winning young alt bluegrass band, Melody & Jacob truly shine as a duo. With Melody's thunderous-but-heartbreaking voice plus great harmonies and Jacob's Grisman-like mandolin, their award-winning original songs exhibit great clarity & depth while their eclectic covers, ranging from Blondie to The Band are true crowd-pleasers.
Young rising stars Molly Tuttle and John Mailander have combined amazing instrumental virtuosity with Molly's expressive voice to capture features in Bluegrass Now, Flatpicking Guitar and Acoustic Guitar Magazines plus two million you tube viewers! Both graduates of Berklee College of Music in Boston, they play many different instruments and styles, while respecting their bluegrass, folk and contemporary influences. Molly's blazing flatpicking is reminiscent of James Nash and other guitar slingers. In recent years she has been awarded the Hazel Dickens Memorial Scholarship award from the Foundation for Bluegrass Music in Nashville, Best Female Vocalist and Best Guitar Player by the Northern California Bluegrass Society, music and composition Merit Scholarships to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and 1st place in the prestigious Merlefest's Chris Austin Songwriting Competition.
