Mostly Kosher presents ROOTS & WINGS: An Interactive Family Show

This exciting new workshop production, Roots & Wings, utilizes traditional and contemporary Jewish cultural music, to tell the story of a Klezmer musician coming into his own as a performer. Grounding him in tradition is his grandmother Bubbe channeling the spirit of heritage in the voice of her violin. The show is developed by Mostly Kosher artists, including Leeav Sofer, Janice Mautner Markham and world class director Matthew McCray.

Geared for all ages and backgrounds, Mostly Kosher's artistic voice is integral in creating a bridge to engage younger audiences as well as expanding cultural awareness to the greater community through Klezmer and Yiddish music. The show is rich with educational components that include introductions and cultural immersion to Jewish culture and heritage. On the peripherals of the music and language, components also include general music education elements as well as exploring intersections with universal, global music genres.
