A staged reading to benefit the Cultural Hub of NW Florida and other local arts groups
1897. London. The world is shocked by news of Mark Twains death from influenza. Later Twain commented, The report of my death was an exaggeration. But was it? Mark Twain Interruption imagines a space between life and death, where the famous and infamous of Twains generation and beyond testify in a celestial courtroom. Twain must answer to a higher authority for his wild youth, his controversial writings, and his questionable choices. Panama City playwright and attorney Mike Stone weaves surprising details of Mark Twains life and works into an irreverent, witty, and poignant comedy.
A staged reading of Mark Twain Interruption will be presented on August 26 and August 27 at 7 pm, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1608 Baker Court, Panama City, to benefit the Cultural Hub of NW Florida and local arts groups.
