NY Opera Forum presents Bizet's Carmen in Concert at Central Unitarian Church, Paramus, NJ
Passionate and brilliant, Carmen is a classic opera by French composer Georges Bizet. A story of the tortured love story between Carmen and Don Jose, it is one of the most popular and frequently performed operas in the world. It is based on the nouvella Carmen by Prosper Mérimé with a libretto by Ludovic Halévy and Henri Meilhac. Habanera and the Toreador Song are among the best-known operatic arias.
Presented by the NY Opera Forum, founded by Richard Nechamkin, this is a wonderful opportunity to listen to classically trained singers perform operatic repertoires in the original languages. Richard Nechamkin is a conductor, pianist and vocal coach who has worked all over the United States and the world, including the New York City Opera and as Associate Music Director for the Natchez Opera Festival. He has arranged and conducted several film scores.
This is your opportunity to experience Carmen in Concert, presented live by the NY Opera Forum. This performance is on Saturday, June 11 at Central Unitarian Church in Paramus starting at 2:00 PM. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
