A Midsummer Night's Dream - ABA 2022 Recital
ABA is thrilled to be back in the theatre! Our June 4, 2022 Recital marks the first time our students will be back on stage since the Pandemic began. The dancers will perform excerpts from 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', modified for all various levels and age groups and choreographed by the teachers of ABA (Karin Jensen, Abra Rudisill, Emilie Skinner, Calvin Thomas, Claire Toner, & Gail Voss). Our Ballet 4-7 classes will also present new Contemporary work by Lindsay Leonard.
ABOUT THE BALLET:
A ballet about the transforming power of love, A Midsummer Nights Dream, is based on William Shakespeares comedy about the romantic adventures and misadventures, quarrels and reuniting, of two pairs of mortal lovers and the king and queen of the fairies. In the first act there are dances of unrequited love and love that is reconciled. There is a pas de deux for the Fairy Queen Titania and Bottom, who has been turned into an donkey a perfect illustration in dance of the old proverb, love is blind. In the second act, which opens with Mendelssohns familiar Wedding March, there is a pas de deux representing ideal, untroubled love.
Performance at 2 PM!
