We Are Still Here: Keeping my culture alive through knit design
Puddletown Knitters Guild invites you to join Jennifer Berg of Native Knits for an immersive day of Navajo culture and stranded knitting.
Jennifer will speak in the morning about her inspiration and design process, her favorite design apps, appropriation versus appreciation, and stranded color works knitting tips and techniques.
Throughout the afternoon participants will work on a project - a cowl she designed exclusively for this event that features her own motifs and includes a space for you to insert a motif of your own design. There will be several expert colorwork knitters on hand for additional support.
Registration fee includes Native Knits cowl pattern, three skeins of Brooklyn Tweed Arbor, and a special project bag. Breakfast and lunch will be served by CaddoWoman Catering, specializing in a modern presentation of traditional indigenous food.
