Yes, she had a crazy life, but she lived the life she wanted, fueled by her boundless joie de vivre. Her credo, the most important thing in life is a resilient heart. The people who knew her, her closest friends, spoke of her warmth, her continual laughter, her generosity and capacity for friendship, how she vibrated to the music and her biggest love affair was with the audience.
PIAF - NO REGRETS.Why did I want to create a show on Edith Piaf??? Everybody knows Edith Piaf? we all know her story, right????.Non! No, actually, we dont! You see, the truth is, its hard to know the truth about Piaf.and THAT is the fault of Piaf herself, who had total disdain for the ordinary.. as if there was anything ordinary in the life of Edith Piaf!
Born in abject poverty, abandoned by her mother at birth, raised in a brothel run by her grandmother, blinded at the age of 3, ultimately singing on every street corner of Paris for survival till she was discovered at 20..and this was just the beginning! Still she grew to become the rock-star of her time, a consummate artist delivering power-house performances that emanated from her raw, visceral need to connect through music the era she was sharing with her audience.
Her life was public domain, the affairs, the drugs, the tragedies, the triumphs but being PIAF.she felt the need to embellish the truth. So, Edithit is with the greatest respect that I am going to do my best to dis-embellish everything about you, and with PIAF - NO REGRETS, separate for this audience the ever-so-juicy facts from your ever-so-juicy fiction allowing your true brilliance to dazzle audiences world-wide!
