Of Course Supper Club @ Eda Rhyne #1: Iter
Eda Rhyne welcomes you into its sanctum, the distillery floor, to enjoy the first of a series of private, coursed tasting dinners with beverage pairings.  We are calling this series of events Of Course (of course we are), and the first featured guest will be Iter, an itinerant food concept from chef Daniel Rider.  

Chef Daniels food has been featured at Eda Rhyne at a pop-up event earlier this season, and was very well received.  He currently bakes bread for chef Jacob Sessoms Table and All Day Darling, and he was Eric Morris sous chef at Katie Buttons Nightbell, and previously the chef de partie at Jose Andres Minibar in DC.

Phoebe Esmon and Christian Gaal, who oversee the beverages at Eda Rhynes new barroom, will be designing the course pairings, which will consist both of wine and cocktails featuring local amari (bittersweet spirits and liqueurs) from us, Eda Rhyne, in the very space where they are produced.  The dessert course may very well be featuring an enviable egg nog recipe for which, if you ask nicely, you may obtain the reciept to replicate for your friends and family this holiday season!  

Non-alcoholic adult beverages will be available for substitution, and as for food it is possible to offer a vegetarian or a pescatarian option.  No matter what, any special requests or dietary restrictions must be included in your reservation form so that we can be fully prepared to accommodate your needs!  For this particular menu, because of the nature of some of the dishes chef Daniel wishes to prepare, we are not planning to offer a gluten free or dairy free option.  Our apologies to those of you for whom this is a deal breaker, and we encourage you to keep abreast of our upcoming events as we post them, because we will definitely be informing you as to those dietary options.

Up to now, we have sort of assumed that you know who we are.  In case you are not familiar with Eda Rhyne, we are a local distillery in Biltmore that utilizes the breathtaking biodiversity in our region of the Smoky Mountains to produce amari, which are bittersweet, often herbaceous liqueurs traditionally produced in the uplands of Italy and other Alpine regions of Europe.  A significant portion of Eda Rhynes flavors is thanks to local forage, and nearly all of our botanicals and ingredients hail from this region.  The botanicals featured in our products are part of the pharmacopeia of the region, and many have been prized for their medicinal potency by homesteaders and native herbalists alike.  This local medicinal plant tradition reflects the cultural context of amari in Europe, where they were once sold as medicinal elixirs.  Head Distiller Rett Murphy also applies his farming background to sourcing the quality agricultural products that find their way into his vats.  

Here at Eda Rhyne, we are excited to add food experiences into our offerings, because it is within the context of food and good company that these spirit styles, largely of Alpine, European origin were meant to be enjoyed.  We are also excited to invite you, dear reader, to imbue the same room where we put so much effort and love into our spirits with your own positive energies in the forming of great memories sharing good times with us and our guest chefs!
