ATTENTION. Advance admission is officially SOLD OUT. We'll have limited door admission available for $25. Because of the holidays we're expecting a huge turnout, and recommend that all attendees without a reserved table arrive early for best seating options.

Detroit's favorite poetry slam series is BACK for the holiday season. For the first time ever, we're offering 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes! This will be one of our largest competitions yet! Join us for an evening of powerful words, delicious food, drinks, and big fun with the best crowd in Detroit!
Every event is a full house. You don't want to miss this one.
FIRST PLACE: $500 CASH.
SECOND PLACE: $200 CASH.
THIRD PLACE: A Holiday gift bag curated by event host, Joel Fluent Greene.

Doors 6PM. Showtime 8PM SHARP.
-$15 Early Bird Admission (Only 30 will be sold)
-$20 General Admission
-$60 Reserved table for 2
-$120 Reserved table for 4
-$20 Poet Registration
Only 12 slots available. Poets register by purchasing a registration ticket. That ticket options goes live, Friday, November 15th @ Noon.
Slam is open to ages 21 & up.
There will be drink specials all evening, and the delicious Aretha's menu will be available for purchase.
SLAM RULES:
12 poets.
$20 registration fee.
NO REFUNDS (Show up!)
3 rounds (please be prepared to perform at least 4 poems total in case of a tie in the final round)
Must use original poems.
No time limit per poem.
NO PROPS ALLOWED.
THERE IS NO CENSORSHIP.
There will be 3 pre-selected judges. Judges will remain a secret until close to the event date.
Slam will be scored using the decimal system. Ex: 8.7
Highest score allowed is 10.
First round will include all 12 poets.
Second round will consist of the top 6 highest scoring poets from round one, eliminating the bottom 6
Third round will consist of the top 3 highest scoring poets from round 2, eliminating the bottom 3.
All poets must arrive NO LATER than 7:30PM day of show. Late arrival = LOSING YOUR SPOT.
Slam starts at 8PM SHARP.
Performers do not receive comp guests. All attendees that aren't competing must pay the required cover charge.
