AACE Seattle Seminar: Change Impact & Construction Claims Management
The Seattle Section of AACE (American Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International) is proud to sponsor Jim Zack, the world-renowned Claims Management expert, coming to Seattle for a two-day Seminar at the UW.

The Change Impact & Construction Claims Management Seminar will help attendees explore the interface between change orders and claims, understand the burden of proof imposed on all claimants, learn the basics of all 11 types of claims, become familiar with the analysis of construction claims, and gain insight into ways to resolve claims.

The objective of this two-day Seminar is to provide information for clients, employers, contractors, and all stakeholders concerning entitlement, causation and damages for each of the basic types of claims.  Attendees will learn how to prepare valid claims and defend against non-meritorious claims.

Please sign up early (before November 21st) and save $50.  This history-making seminar will be held at the University of Washington, Gould Hall Room 322.
Registration is open to anyone interested in Construction Claims. We are purposely keeping the Seminar costs low so everyone can attend this outstanding 2-day Seminar.

Total cost is $250 for Early Registration (on or before Wednesday Nov 20th) and $300 for Late Registration (after Wed Nov 20th) plus a service fee.

Dates and times are Saturday & Sunday, November 23rd & 24th, 2019, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The location is Room 322 Gould Hall at the UW, 3950 University Way, Seattle, WA 98105.

Choose one lunch for each day, either Regular, Vegan, Gluten Free, or Vegetarian.

Prepaid parking provided, please get permit at West Gatehouse using code 215048 before parking in Lot W12 or W10.

Jim Zack is the Principal of James Zack Consulting, LLC a construction claims consultancy dedicated to aiding owners and contractors to complete their projects in the field, not in arbitration or court.  He is also the Senior Advisor to the recently formed Ankura Construction Forum™.  The Forum strives to be the construction industry's resource for thought leadership and best practices on avoidance and resolution of construction project disputes globally.  Jim was the founder and Executive Director of the Navigant Construction Forum™.  Formerly he was the Executive Director, Corporate Claims Management Group, for Fluor Corporation, one of the worlds largest EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) contractors.  Prior to this, Jim was Vice President of PinnacleOne, Executive Director of the PinnacleOne Institute, and a Senior Construction Claims Consultant for CH2M HILL, Inc.  He has, for 47 years, worked on both private and public projects throughout the U.S. and in 34 countries abroad.  Jim has worked for both contractors and owners on more than 5,000 claims in his career.  He a Fellow of AACE International, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and the Guild of Project Controls.  In the construction claims field, he is an internationally recognized and published expert in mitigation, analysis, and resolution or defense of construction claims and disputes.  Jim is a Certified Construction Manager (CCM), a Certified Forensic Claims Consultant (CFCC), and a Project Management Professional (PMP).
