Stories from the Writing Life:  a Modern Literary Salon

Co-hosted by Creative Spirit and New England Indie Authors Collective

Saturday, 11/2, 7pm-9pm

Ticket Price:  $20 advance/$25 at door (cash only)

What is a modern literary salon? Find out on Saturday, November 2 at 7pm, when Marblehead's own Creative Spirit and The New England Indie Authors Collective will host four local writers from diverse backgrounds:  the founder of a small press and tech thriller writer; an MIT physicist, fiction writer, and former Wall Street executive; a Grub Street writing instructor, memoirist, and storyteller; and a world-traveler, humorist, and novelist.

The authors will present their latest work and discuss the ins and outs of creative writing and their writing lives. Wine, cheese, and thoughts big and unconventional will be shared. The event will include a Q&A with the authors and a book signing with books being sold at a discount of 10%.

The Authors:

Jenny Pivor, an artist and writer has had a kaleidoscope of creative careers, which include teaching art, clothing design, web design, and even owning a self-publishing company. She is the author of two novels "OMG" and "The Closing," as well as the non-fiction book "Boston Dogs." merrimackmedia.com

Judah Leblang is the author of two memoirs. His one man show, "It's Now or Never: My Life in the Late Middle Ages," has been featured in Boston, and at theater festivals in the US and Canada. He is an instructor at Grub Street writing center, and a columnist for "Bay Windows," Boston's gay newspaper. judahleblang.com/

K.M. Halpern holds a PhD in theoretical physics from MIT, has served as Managing Director at a major Wall Street firm, and is the author of the novel "Pace" as well as two books of very short fiction.  He currently is working on several short story books and a series centered around a seemingly indestructible woman. kmhalpern.com

Randy Ross is a novelist, humorist, and performer. His novel "God Bless Cambodia" was published in 2017.
