International Women in Jazz: A Concert & Conversation
Women jazz artists representing three continents will take the stage to present a variety of songs (from Gypsy Jazz to the American Songbook) and discuss their journeys as women making it in the jazz world, in International Women in Jazz: A Concert & Conversation, a special event co-presented by Seattle Women in Jazz and the Seattle-Kobe Sister City Association, on Oct. 20. Acclaimed artists including Yukino - the Jazz Queen of Kobe (Japan), Jessica Heaven (Canada), and Lulu Swing (a local Seattle group specializing in French music) are scheduled to perform. Yukino and Jessica Heaven are both donating their time for this event.
Advance tickets are $12 general admission and $5 for students/seniors. Tickets are $15 general admission and $7 for students/seniors, at the door. Seattle Women in Jazz is a fiscally-sponsored program of Shunpike, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt arts organization. Donations made to Seattle Women in Jazz are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
