Messiah
The Lynden Choral Society is a volunteer organization of singers from North Whatcom County, ranging in age from 14 to 75. We have sung Handel's Messiah every year for the past 100 years and we thoroughly enjoy performing this choral masterpiece that presents a beautiful Biblical synopsis of Jesus, the Christ, the true Messiah of God. Handel presents, in stirring and passionate music, the record of the Messiah starting with the promise foretold by the Prophets to the birth, life, death, resurrection, and reign of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
The Lynden Choral Society is under the direction of Gerald Rutgers and is accompanied again this year by the Starry Night Chamber Orchestra of Skagit County and led by concertmaster Sharyn Peterson. Our featured soloists include Janeanne Houston, soprano, and Charles Robert Stephens, bass, both from Seattle.
