Buoyant and vigorous in its celebration of the music and spirit of the iconic legend, LEONARD COHEN KOANS is a must see show for Cohen lovers and newcomers alike.
Renowned for her dynamic, sensuous voice, Ali Hughes delivers powerhouse interpretations of Leonard Cohen's most loved poetry, prose and song. As well as lesser known gems like The Butcher, you'll enjoy such Cohen favourites as Chelsea Hotel #2 and Suzanne in all new arrangements exploring the dynamism and intimacy in Cohen's incredible musicality.
Musically directed by Green Room Award winning composer Daryl Wallis, LEONARD COHEN KOANS moves from ethereal to full throttle in a heartbeat.

'ali & the thieves" are a storytelling music collaborative who perform internationally. Ali Hughes (producer, writer, lead artist) and Daryl Wallis (musical director, collaborator, pianist) share a background in theater performance and production and have collaborated with leading Australian theatre companies, including Sydney Opera House Baby Proms, Ensemble Theatre Co and Siren Theatre Co.
Their production of Leonard Cohen Koans has headlined and featured internationally on tour (Australia, USA, Canada, UK) and at festivals and fringe festivals (International Leonard Cohen Festival Dublin, NYC Fringe Festival and Sydney Fringe Festival), and next plays at the San Francisco Leonard Cohen Festival in November this year.
They are currently working on a new show interpreting the work of Lou Reed, to be presented in New York in 2020.
